The student cheering sections, especially at a basketball game against a rival, are particularly entertaining whether its the Legion of Doom, the Stampede or The Pit.There were several games this past week which featured the spirited squabbling between students from rival schools including the Bishop McCort-Johnstown boys contest and the Bishop McCort-Westmont boys game.

Wood High School's boys basketball team a 48-46 victory in Napa. Wood had an earlier chance to win, but missed a shot with 30 seconds left.
Crushers fend off Hilltoppers
Bishop McCorts hockey team took a two-game lead in the best-of-3 regular-season series between crosstown rivals with a 3-1 victory over Westmont Hilltop Tuesday night at Cambria County War Memorial Arena.Fittingly it was Chad James, who had a hat trick in the Crimson Crushers 8-3 victory over Westmont on Jan. 5, who scored the game-winner late in the third period.

HELSINKI, Finland, Jan. 12, 2007 -- Metso Minerals will supply a crushing plant and mining equipment to Pirites Alentejanas, SA.'s Aljustrel zinc mine in southern Portugal. The delivery will be completed by January 2008.
